Quizzes
We have a "scratch your nuts" quiz every first Wednesday of each month. It was slow to start but it has now got quite a following, as it's not only fun but is also quite challenging!
Entry is £2 per person. We used to limit the team sizes but soon realised that the old adage is true; "size is no guarantee of strength", so bring along as many brains as you wish!
The first prize depends on the number of entrants but it's always guaranteed to be a minimum of £50, with various other prizes such as free drinks, etc.. On top of this we have a rollover jackpot, which accumulates by £30 each week (The winning team nominates one person to answer the jackpot question). In our September '08 quiz, the winning team also scooped the jackpot and walked away with a total of £260 in winnings!
The quiz usually consists of 80 questions: 60 in the quiz (3 rounds of 20) and then a further 20 in a 'picture round'. See a sample set of questions here
